Friends of Wausau Historic Landmarks Presents Tour de Marathon County 2025
Come explore Marathon County with the Friends of Wausau Historic Landmarks and their special guests! On Saturday, September 27 we will hop on a motorcoach and head out to visit Ringle, Hatley, Elderon, Bevent, and Mosinee – and learn about the people, businesses, and culture that make each of these communities an important part of our county’s history and present.
As we travel to each community we will present an overview of the history of each community. And once we arrive the fun really begins! We will be met at each stop by local historians who will guide us through the history of the community through photos, stories, tours, and more.
Hear and see about the brick making days of Ringle; visit St. Florian’s, a center of the community in Hatley; take a walk in Elderon and learn about businesses and bank robbers; step inside St. Ladislaus to learn about its saint and its members; and tour downtown Mosinee to hear and see how its unique beginnings and Native American culture can still be seen today.
Each participant will receive a goody bag filled with snacks for the day. Of course there will be surprises along the way, as well.
The tour starts at the GTCC Maintenance Building at 6206 Alderson Street. The bus loads at 11:45 am with a noon departure. We will return at about 5:15 pm.
Tickets are $50 and are available to Janke Book Store in downtown Wausau. Please note that it is cash or check only.
