“Days Gone By” Presentation by Bob Becker in Celebration of Preservation Month
Join the Friends of Wausau Historic Landmarks on Saturday, May 23, at 2:00 pm at the Marathon Public Library – Wausau Headquarters for a special presentation by Bob Becker in celebration of Preservation Month.
This presentation will take a trip down memory lane with local artist Bob Becker as he presents a delightful collection of nostalgic artwork celebrating Wausau in the 1950s and ’60s. Bob will share the stories and memories behind many of his detailed illustrations, offering a warm glimpse into what life in Wausau was like during those decades. Perfect for people who grew up in the area or simply enjoy a little hometown history.
Bob Becker owned and operated Becker Communications Inc. in Schofield for 54 years. Starting in 1968 as a film producer and commercial photographer, the company grew to provide a wide range of marketing and communication services for customers throughout the United States and parts of the world. Having grown up in Wausau in the 1950s and witnessed its profound changes, in 2018, he began creating artistic scenes depicting many street corners as they appeared in that era. To date he has done 24 different scenes with no end in sight.
This presentation is free and open to all. The presentation will be held in the Community Room on the second floor of the library.
