The Downtown Historic Tour will feature the buildings that helped Wausau grow through the years. Many buildings have a unique and valuable story to how Wausau came to be what it is today. Downtown has been the center of the commercial, religious, and entertainment culture of Wausau and the tour will feature these stories

Thomas Street 3M Neighborhood
We will be joined by a founding member of Citizens for Clean Wausau as we explore a hybrid of local history and architecture with the history of the environment and current day environment issues around the Thomas Street 3M Neighborhood.

Grand Avenue Neighborhood – Schofield
Christine will lead this tour through this neighborhood that was once on the trolley route. She will highlight several homes built between the 1890s and 1950s, three different schools, St. Peter Lutheran Church, the corner grocery store, chemical companies, and of course local thespians

Athletic Park Neighborhood
Explore another neighborhood in the 5th District. This neighborhood has the three important Bs – baseball, beef, and beer. And the homes are a nice mix of architecture and ages. We explored the industrial area- now let’s explore the residential area.
